Introduction of Harivansh-Rai-Bachchan

Harivansh rai Bachchan was the biggest and most prominent author in India. He wrote poetry in Hindi and was the writer of the 20th-century Nayi Kavita literary movement. He was born in Pratapgarh district, in Babupatti village and belonged to the Hindu Srivastava Kayasth family. Pratapgarh is established in Agra and Oudh in British India. Rai was a famous author in British India, and one of his best poems was very popular, “Madhushala”. This poetry achieved lots of fame, and at present, it also be read.

In 1976, Harivansh Rai was awarded by Padma Bhushan for his best Hindi literature. He wrote many romantic poetries, and he has a collection of 30 poems. He wrote his last poetry in 1984, which was based on the murder of Indira Gandhi. 

Early Childhood And Education

Harivansh rai Bachchan was born on 27 November 1907 in the Kayasth family Babupatti, Pratap Garh, connected to Allahabad. His father’s name was Pratap Narayan Srivastava, and her name was Saraswati Devi. His parents called him “Bacchan” in childhood, and now he is famous by the same name.  

Bacchan learned the Urdu language and also did a masters in English from Prayag University. Moreover, he married in 1926 to the “Shayama”, but she died due to tuberculosis in 1936. Now he was living alone and married again to the “Teji Suri” she performed at theatre and singing platforms. 

He has two children; his first is a son “Amitabh Bachchan” and his second is “Ajitabh Bachchan”. Amitabha is known as theMAHANAYAK of Bollywood” and is a prestigious actor in Hindi movies. 

Career As Author And Journey Of Harivansh Rai Bachchan 

Harivansh rai Bachchan loved to learn languages and was the most fluent in Hindi, like “Hindustani and Awadhi“. He completed his PhD at Cambridge University to research William Butler Yeats’s poetry. He worked on translation also and wrote “Ek November 1984”, which presents the death of India Gandhi. 

Harivansh Rai Ji is remembered for his best poem, “Madhushala”, an unforgettable work. This poem was published in 1935. This poem was translated into English; hence, this became utmost readable among the people when “Madhushala” was performed on the stage. In 1969, Bachchan published the “kya bool kya karu”. 

During his duty in the External Affairs Ministry in Hindi literature, he worked to publish his collection of 30 poems. Bacchan, also wrote in Devnagari lipi, which was like the “Omar Khayyam” poetry while he was unknown in the Persian language.  

Bacchan contributed his precious time to Bollywood Hindi movies and has worked on music. He did, For example, “Agneepath” in 1990. 

Noteworthy Awards And Accolades 

In his career, he was also honoured with the “Sahitya Akademi Award. Apart from this Bachchan was awarded many times for his best and most readable poetry. 

1966 He was also elected to the Rajya Sabha and achieved the Sahitya Akademi award in 1969. As per bacchan dedication to Hindi literature, he was honoured with the “Padma Bhushan Award “seven years later by govt of India. 

He got the Saraswati Samman, the afro-asian Writers’ Conference’s Lotus Award and the Soviet Land Nehru Award. Moreover, he got another achievement, the “Yash Bharati Samman”; this Samman was honoured in 1994 by the Uttar Pradesh government. Instead, in 2003, a postage stamp was issued.  

Personal Life Of Harivansh Rai Bachchan 

Harivansh rai Bacchan is called from childhood because he was a very naughty boy, and his parents started calling him “Bacchan”. He married in 1926, and his first wife died due to tuberculosis. Her name was Shayama, and she was just 14 years old when she married Srivastav. 

After some time, he got a second marriage to the “Teji Suri”, and has two sons,o sons, Amitabh Rai Bacchan and Ajitabh Bacchan. Amitabh Bachchan is a famous character/actor in Bollywood.  

This is the last of Bacchan in 2003, in fortune he died due to breathlessness in 2003 at the age of 95th-year-old.
