Introduction Of Kateb Yacine: 

Kateb Yacine belonged to Constantine, Algeria, and he was the writer of novels and plays. He was born in 1929 and died on 28 October 1989. He was known as an Algerian poet, playwright and novelist. He was one of the most famous figures in North Africa. He was popular because he worked as a correspondent for the Algeria republican newspaper. 

Kateb’s Early Life And Education: 

Yacine finished his studies at French colonial schools. Moreover, he travelled throughout Algeria, East Asia, and Europe to improve his life through various occupations.

He was born in Constantine in 2 August 1929, on 6 August. He was born four days earlier, and he changed his name because he used to be addicted to hearing his teacher’s name, and that was always the last name first. Kateb Yacine has three children: Amazigh, Nadia and Hans. 

Kateb Yacine Career Life And Another Work: 

Kateb wrote his first novel named “Nedjma” in 1956. This novel affects the African literature. This novel explains the story of the society of Algeria against the background of disunity and violence. Here, we also included incorporating local legends and religious beliefs. 

1947, they entered the COMMUNIST PARTY OF ALGERIA, and he lectured “on EMIR ABD AL-QADIR. After that, he worked to publish “Nedjma Ou Le Poems Du Couteau“. The katab also worked as a reporter between 1949 to 1951. 

He started work in 1950 as a long shoreman after his father passed away. Then, he returned the peris where he was working and building relations with “M’HAMED ISSIAKHEM”. After that, he worked in several places and also different works in Germany, Italy, Yugoslavia, and France.   

1962, he returned to Algeria and started writing for “Algeria Republic”. From 1963 and 1967, he travelled to France, Moscow and Germany. He travelled to Algeria for five years and played for farmers, workers and students. He took steps to create equality for women who wore headscarves, so people criticized them. 

In 1988, when he passed away, he left his incomplete work on the Algeria riots.
