Sukanya Venkatraghavan is an Indian author who is middling with the fantasy fiction genre. She is residing in Mumbai with her family. She belongs to Kerala, and it is the very traditional place of its folklore. She was connected to the fantasy when she was working as a film journalist in Mumbai. She covered the famous and glamorous celebrities of the Bollywood Filmfare. 

She is very down to earth, and she grew up listening to tales of Indian folklore and mythology from her grandfather. She felt a connection to the Indian scripts or patkathaye when her grandfather narrated them to her.   

Moreover, she generally loves to read the western classics from the library. It was natural that her interest and her life as a writer attracted her to Indian mythology, and she felt that she revolved around the story of gods, rakshasas: Rani and Apsara.

Her family is complete with her husband and all happiness, and she lives with owl figurines and a large congregation of cats. These are collected from all over the world because she likes to live with them.
